Yes, I know, but as a Junior rider he is not allowed to participate in UCI elite races! Nevertheless he has started in this 2.1 race. How did that happen?

Asmara, 16 February 2013 – The National Cycling Team has ranked first in the first competition of Fenkil Challenge, a three-stage tournament which got underway today from Hirgigo to Ginda town and would last until the 24th this month.

Cycling teams from Algeria, Sudan, Egypt and Rwanda are taking part in the tournament that meets international standards, and Eritrean cyclists seized all the first nine ranks in today’s competitions which was conducted in the morning hours and involved 78 Km, reports indicated.

Also in an uphill racing at a spot along Dengolo-Laelai, Eritreans Awet Gebremedhin and Tesfai Abraha stood first and second, while Algerian Abdelnur Yami from GSP club took hold of the third rank.

But that's quite difficult to understand if there was 2 stages or one today...Well, much better to wait for UCI results I presume. Smile

As this report is from saturday, it looks like there were 2 stages yesterday:
-in the 1st the numbers 1-9 were Eritrean, without specified names.
-the 2nd was won by Gebremedhin.
3rd and last stage has been raced today, no information yet.

(btw: the CQ race overview showed 1 stage on Saturday and 2 on Sunday, but that was just a guess)

There were six OOT in Volta ao Algarve, Stage 4:

Sergio Ribeiro (11'24")
Adrian Lopez (12'28")
Sandro Pinto (12'49")
Filipe Cardoso (12'49")
Marco Corti (14'21")
Luis Fernandes (16'11")

Bruno Silva and Antonio Carvalho were DNF; Laurens De Vreese DNS.

Tom Leezer was DNS in Stage 3.

This probably refers to a climb in stage 1 counting for the Mountain Ranking.
According to the UCI results there were just two stages , one on saturday and one on sunday.
P.S. There are some pending posts under Calendar 2013.

On the first stage of Tirreno-Adriatico Pro Team Euskaltel-Euskadi was 22nd of the T.T.T. On your results page it is Continental Team Euskadi. This is not the right team.
