| 30/06/2019 - ROMANIA - RR The CQ result shows the Elite only, but it was a combined race with U23 and for once the UCI gives the integral result on their website.

| FIJI NAVAGINUSAU Kemeuli (2nd ITT, 5th RR) is not a new data base entry (id 30255) but NAVUNISAGAU Kemueli (id 29249). Neither of the two spellings is actually correct. According to Facebook and Linkedin it should be NAVUNIGASAU Kemueli. He even has a, not very active, twitter account: https://twitter.com/navunigasau ANTIGUA and BARBUDA DELANBANQUE Conor (3rd ITT, 1st RR) is British, so no CQ points. | |

| With due respect, CQ should once and for all surrender to the fact that Curaçao is an UCI Federation like any other one. There was a brief mess when the island changed its political status as for its links with the Netherlands but it was rapidly corrected so in my opinion all points should be awarded retroactively to the affected riders. Check the fact that Curaçao and, this is a novelty, Sint Maarten are listed in the UCI ranks of Federations so it cannot be treated as if it was Martinica or French Guyana, for instance, which actually are included in France. | |

After the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010, the IOC did not recognize Curaçao (contrary to Aruba) as a souvereign nation. Athletes from Curaçao may only participate in the Games under the Dutch or the Olympic flag. Certain sports federations, like FINA and FIFA, have since then accepted Curaçao as a nation in their competitions. The position of the IOC has still not changed. At least until last year, that seems not to be the case for the UCI either. Two riders from Curaçao, Hillard Cijntje (9th) and Gyasi Sulvaran (18th) participated on 6 May 2018 in the RR of the Pan-American Championships. In the official result they are under the country code NED and have *0 UCI points, with * for “According to UCI regulations”. The same for two French riders from Guadeloupe, Lionel Miny (24th) and Larry Lutin (25th). In 2019 the championships of Curaçao are for the first time included in the UCI calendar. I suggest that only if the UCI attributes points for these championships, and registers the riders as CUW (the UCI nation code) rather than NED, CQ should do the same. But certainly not retroactively from 2011. | |
